Stress-free School Morning Hacks

Mornings can be chaotic, especially when you're trying to get the kids out the door on time. But with a few simple tweaks, you can transform your mornings from stressful to smooth-sailing. 

Well… as much as getting everyone out the door fully dressed in a small amount of time can considered smooth sailing. More like it’s getting a little choppy, so the boats need to get a move on NOW!

With that said, here are three easy hacks to help you streamline your school morning routine.

1. Lay Out Clothes the Night Before
One of the simplest ways to avoid morning delays is to lay out your child's clothes the night before. This eliminates the last-minute scramble to find a missing sock or debate over outfit choices. Let your child help pick their clothes and have that fight..I mean, debate… the night before, so they’re excited to get dressed in the morning.

2. Prepare Breakfasts in Advance
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it doesn't have to be time-consuming. Consider prepping breakfast the night before. Overnight oats, smoothies, or even pre-made egg muffins can be lifesavers. With breakfast ready to go, you can avoid the rush and ensure your child starts the day with a healthy meal.  I used to set the table the night before, too. Let’s just say the kids weren’t the only ones stumbling around in the morning.

3. Establish a Consistent Wake-Up Time
Consistency is key when it comes to getting up in the morning. Set a regular wake-up time for your child, even on weekends, to help their internal clock adjust. A steady routine will make waking up easier and give everyone enough time to get ready without feeling rushed.

By implementing these simple hacks, you'll create a stress-free morning routine that sets a positive tone for the rest of the day. With clothes ready, breakfast prepared, and a consistent wake-up time, you’ll be amazed at how much smoother your mornings can be. And, quieter. It’s so much quieter without all that yelling! (And, if it’s you doing most of the yelling, I’m not judging.)
